Chelsea Manalo officially calls her pasarela the 'Tampisaw Walk'

Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo now has a name for her iconic walk.

During her grand homecoming at her alma mater De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) on Tuesday, the Bulakenya showed off her pasarela, which she officially called the “Tampisaw Walk.”

“Yung walk ko sa swimsuit it was a last minute idea. It had to come through somewhere na maaalala ng tao,” Chelsea shared.

According to the Lasallian beauty queen, her “Tampisaw Walk" is somehow inspired by Lola Amour’s “Raining in Manila,” which the OPM band performed during the swimsuit competition of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant.

“Dahil siguro ‘yung kanta din na it was ‘Raining in Manila’ pumasok siya sa isip ko and somewhat very related to Bulacan na we have a little bit of a flood there. So, tampisaw cause when she’s walking she’s just as if playing in a little bit of water. That’s what I want to call my walk, ‘Tampisaw Walk,’” she added.

Chelsea finished her senior high school and earned her bachelor's degree in tourism management from DLSAU.

During her grand homecoming, she was asked questions about her pageant journey and her student life.

Chelsea was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on May 22.

In a recent episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Chelsea talked about dealing with bashers and how she almost quit the Miss Universe Philippines pageant due to lack of resources.

Aside from Chelsea, four other queens were also crowned: Alexie Brooks of Iloilo as Miss Eco International Philippines; Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province as Miss Cosmo Philippines; Tarah Valencia of Baguio as Miss Supranational Philippines; and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga as Miss Charm Philippines.
